CILICIA. Tarsos. Tarkumuwa (Datames), satrap of Cilicia and Cappadocia, 384-361/0 BC. Stater (Silver, 21 mm, 9.90 g, 12 h). 𐑁𐑏𐑋𐑕𐑓𐑆 ('b'ltrs' in Aramaic) Baaltars seated right on backless throne, his body turned to front, holding bunch of grapes and grain ear in his left hand and eagle-tipped scepter in his right; to right, thymiaterion; all within crenellated border. Rev. Ana, nude, facing Datames, both with right arms raised; thymiaterion between them; to inner left, π‘•π‘“π‘Šπ‘Œπ‘… ('trkmw' in Aramaic); all within square dotted border within linear border. SNG Levante 83. SNG Paris 290-297. Beautifully toned and with a wonderful reverse. Some corrosion and cleaning scratches on the obverse, otherwise, extremely fine.
